Stella & Kai
A wedding after dark: silver sequins, candlelight, and the moon up for the last dance.
A wedding invitation in midnight navy sets up a night wedding, where the ceremony begins once the sun is down and the room is lit by candles and low lamps. Guests arrive in the dark, find their seats by lantern light, and the vows are read with the windows showing nothing but sky. Pearls come out. So do the wraps, because the air turns cool the moment the light goes.
Dinner runs long under the lamps, the toasts come between courses, and the first dance happens with the floor mostly dark and one light on the couple. Later, people step outside with their drinks and look up. The card asks them to stay for the moonrise, and the ones who stay are the ones still dancing when the band packs up.

What to actually tell people
- Light the way in Everyone arrives after dark, so put lanterns or staked lights along the path from the parking area to the door. Have one person at the gate with a light to walk guests in.
- Say navy, silver and pearls on the invitation Guests will ask what to wear, and this wedding reads best when the room holds to the same colors as the card. Mention that part of the evening is outdoors, so wraps and flat-soled options are a good idea.
- Book portraits before the sun goes Once the ceremony starts you are working with candlelight and flash. Schedule family groups and couple portraits for the hour before sunset, and leave the night shots for the dance floor.
- Look up the moonrise time If you are asking guests to stay for it, check the time for your date and build the end of the night around it. Cut the music for a few minutes, open the doors, and send people outside with their glasses.
