Birthday invitation

All Access Pretty N' Pink

The setlist is taped to the coffee table, and the encore was never in doubt.

Final TouchBack of a raspberry pink denim jacket with ALL ACCESS in rhinestones above white stitched script reading Jade's 17th Birthday, the venue, and a hot-pink denim band with the date.
Final Touch

This design has the Final Touch: the wording is stamped, stitched or foiled to match the artwork, so the card reads as one finished piece.

Start from it and your wording is painted in the same way, exactly as you type it.

What the Final Touch is

This birthday invitation runs the night like a tour stop: doors at eight, lamps turned low, and a wristband snapped on every arm before anyone has put their coat down. The jacket is the point. Plain denim comes out of a bag, rhinestones go on in rows at a covered table, and by nine every back in the room says something.

Then the rug becomes the stage. Songs run in a written order, the microphone travels down the sofa, and the one who swore she was only there to watch goes third. Ten o'clock is marked as the encore and the room treats it as a formality. It is not a formality. The lights come up after it.

What to actually tell people

  • Wristbands at the door Satin bands with a snap, one per guest, names written on in silver pen. They go on in the hallway and they stay on through the weekend.
  • Run the jacket station first Thrift denim, flat-back rhinestones and a strong adhesive on a covered table. The glue wants twenty minutes to set, so do it before the music, not after.
  • Write the setlist down Tape the order of songs and singers somewhere everyone can read it. It settles who holds the microphone without anyone having to be the person who settles it.
  • Name the encore in advance Pick the last song, say the time it lands, and stick to it. An announced ending moves a room toward the door better than any request made at midnight.
