Bachelor party invitation

All In

Chips are bought in at twenty dollars, and the jackets stay on until the last hand.

Bachelor party invitation: Black card with a gold marquee bulb border, red dice at the top, a stack of red and black poker chips at lower right, and gold ALL IN above a name in red, with the date and venue below.

Part of the TinselLux™ collection: invitations in stitched leather, tufted velvet, linen and satin.

The material is the card: linen with a visible weave, velvet with a nap, leather with its grain. It costs the same as every other invitation.

A bachelor party invitation for a casino night that never leaves the hotel suite. The felt goes over the coffee table, the chip case opens in three colors, and every guest arrives in a jacket because the card asked for one. The dice get thrown against the headboard early, for about ten minutes, and then the table settles into cards and stays there.

By midnight the stacks are uneven. One guest is up forty dollars and will not stop narrating it. Another is down to a single ivory chip and playing every hand on principle. The groom is dealt something he should fold, looks at the room, and pushes the stack forward anyway. The money is counted back into an envelope before anyone leaves, and the jackets come off in the elevator.

What to actually tell people

  • Post the buy-in with the invitation One number, one rebuy, cash at the door. Nobody should have to ask what the chips are worth once they are already sitting down.
  • Build a real table A folding table and a roll of felt beat the suite's glass coffee table. Bring two decks, a dealer button, and count the stacks out before the first guest arrives.
  • Hold the dress code The jacket line on the card only works if it is enforced at the door. Keep a spare tie in the room for the one who reads the card and ignores it.
  • Name the last hand Pick a time, say it out loud at the start, and have one person reconcile the cashbox against the chips at the end. Book the groom's ride before anyone sits down.
