Bachelor party invitation

Last Honky-tonk

The band takes one request all night, and it gets handed up with cash between sets.

Bachelor party invitation: Black leather card, gold nailhead border. Embroidered guitar, vinyl record, turquoise concho, cowboy boot and whiskey glass around gold capitals reading LAST HONKY-TONK, date and venue below.

Part of the TinselLux™ collection: invitations in stitched leather, tufted velvet, linen and satin.

The material is the card: linen with a visible weave, velvet with a nap, leather with its grain. It costs the same as every other invitation.

A bachelor party invitation for a night spent on one strip, moving between rooms with a stage in the window. Guests arrive in boots because there is standing involved and the floor near the band is sticky by nine. Whiskey is ordered neat, the glasses are heavy, and the house band plays three sets with breaks long enough to get another round in. Somebody holds a folded bill and a request written on a napkin for most of the first hour.

The turn comes during the second set, when the request gets played and the whole group turns toward the stage at once, including the two who said they were not singing. After that the room belongs to them for about four songs. The last stop is chosen for being closest to the car, not for the band. Nobody drives, which was decided a week earlier.

What to actually tell people

  • Set the order of the rooms Pick three bars and walk them in a fixed order, loudest last. The one with the good band at ten is not the one to open with, because nobody can talk in it.
  • Bring cash for the stage House bands work the tip jar, and a request moves faster with a folded bill on top of it. Twenties, not a card, and hand it up during the break rather than mid-song.
  • Settle the tab before you go in Collect from everyone in advance and run one card behind the bar. The groom should not be reaching for a wallet at any point in the night, and splitting six ways at closing never works.
  • Book the car before the first round Arrange the ride home while everyone is still sober enough to agree on a time. Name a meeting point a block off the strip, because the curb outside the bar will be full.
