Just because invitation

Bad Decisions, Q4 Review

Every guest presents one decision from the last three months and then takes questions.

Just because invitation: Deep navy card with a thin gold frame and a small stitched tab marked PRIVATE. Gold foil capitals read BAD DECISIONS, Q4 REVIEW above an ivory calendar tile on silver rings, with the date and venue below.

Part of the TinselLux™ collection: invitations in stitched leather, tufted velvet, linen and satin.

The material is the card: linen with a visible weave, velvet with a nap, leather with its grain. It costs the same as every other invitation.

A just because invitation that opens a quarterly review, and the only business on the agenda is what everyone did between September and now. Guests arrive with one item each. There is an order, posted by the door, and a chair at the head of the table that nobody fights for. Presentations run short. Questions run long.

The turn comes around item four, when someone realises their decision has a second half they had not planned to mention. The room gets it out of them in under a minute. Coats stay on chairs, the notebook fills up, and by the end there is a written record of a quarter that nobody involved would have described out loud before tonight.

Bring a regret. Skip shame.

Every line of the wording is an example, and yours to replace. The title is painted into the artwork. Type your own and it is drawn again with your words.

What to actually tell people

  • Collect the agenda first Ask every guest for their item in one line by text, two days ahead. Print the running order and tape it by the door so nobody renegotiates their slot on arrival.
  • Three minutes each, timed Put a kitchen timer on the table and let it run. Questions come after the presentation, not during it, which is the only way twelve items fit into an evening.
  • Appoint a minute-taker One person, one notebook, writing down the decision and the outcome. It keeps the room honest and it settles the argument in February about who said what.
  • Hold the rule about shame Questions are about facts and timelines, never about character. If the room turns, the chair moves to the next item and the presenter sits down.
