This is a just because invitation for a morning playdate with a dress code, and the dress code is observed. Mothers arrive in something that was ironed. Babies arrive in collars, with clip-on bow ties that will last about as long as the first round of coffee. The quilt goes down over the rug, the coffee table goes against the wall, and the whole party happens at floor level in good clothes.

Coffee is served in real cups, which is the point. Someone holds a baby and a saucer at the same time and manages both for a while. The turn comes when a lapel takes a direct hit and the room agrees, without discussion, that this was anticipated. Everyone is home by noon and one bow tie is missing.

What to actually tell people

Set the hour between naps Half past ten gives you roughly ninety good minutes before the room turns. Say an end time on the invitation so nobody has to be the first to stand up.
The floor is the venue Push the coffee table to the wall and put down two quilts, not one. Grown adults in nice clothes will sit on the floor all morning, so leave a clear path to the door.
A basket of clean cloths by the door Put out more muslin than you think is reasonable, in white, and tell people to take one on the way in. It turns the dress code into a joke everyone is in on rather than a risk.
Take the photograph in the first twenty minutes The bow ties are on, the collars are straight and nobody has been fed yet. Line the babies up on the quilt and get it done before the coffee is poured.
