Brunch, Reserved
The table is held until the slowest finisher comes up off the trail.
Part of the TinselLux™ collection: invitations in stitched leather, tufted velvet, linen and satin.
The material is the card: linen with a visible weave, velvet with a nap, leather with its grain. It costs the same as every other invitation.
See the collectionA just because invitation holds a table for people who have already done the loop. The walk or the run happens first: a steady pace, one agreed turnaround point, a phone counting miles in somebody's pocket, a hair tie on every wrist. Then the group comes off the trail and goes straight in, dust on the shoes, nobody going home first.
Water goes down before the menus do. Fleeces end up over the chair backs, a visor sits face down next to the salt, and coffee gets ordered for the whole table by whoever arrived first. The turn comes when one guest walks in showered and changed. They are the only person at the table who looks finished, and they stay an hour longer than anyone planned.

A table is being held
Saturday, April 10, 2027 · 9 AM
THE TRAILHEAD CAFE · 18 Pace Lane, Cooldown Creek, CO
Sweat is the dress code.
Every line of the wording is an example, and yours to replace. The title is painted into the artwork. Type your own and it is drawn again with your words.
What to actually tell people
- Set the turnaround point before you set off Name the bench, the bridge or the mile marker where everybody turns back. A table held for nine does not survive one person deciding to add the long loop.
- Tell the cafe you arrive in waves Give them the name, the number of seats and the fact that half the group walks in ten minutes after the first half. Ask them to seat partial parties rather than hold the floor.
- Leave a dry layer in the car One clean shirt and one zip-up per person, in a bag by the door the night before. Indoor seating and a cooling body are not a good combination for a long breakfast.
- Order the coffee before the menus Whoever sits first puts in coffee and water for the table. Everything else can wait for the stragglers, who will want to read the whole menu twice.
