Visiting Hours
Everyone washes their hands at the kitchen sink before they get a turn.
Part of the TinselLux™ collection: invitations in stitched leather, tufted velvet, linen and satin.
The material is the card: linen with a visible weave, velvet with a nap, leather with its grain. It costs the same as every other invitation.
See the collectionSome afternoons happen just because: no milestone, no program, only a new baby and the people who have been waiting to meet him. Guests come in small groups rather than all at once. Coats go on the bed, hands get washed, and the hallway stays quieter than a houseful of people usually is.
The baby is handed over in one chair, and he stays in that corner of the room while the visitors rotate around him. Tea goes on at two. Someone brings a lemon cake nobody asked for and it is finished anyway. The turn comes when the parents sit down for the first time all day and let the room hold the baby for them.

What to actually tell people
- Soap and a clean towel at the sink Put fresh hand soap and a dry towel where people will see them on the way in. Say it in the invitation too, so nobody has to be asked in person.
- Stagger the arrivals Three or four guests per half hour keeps the house calm and gives everyone real time with the baby. A long single rush means half the room never gets close.
- Pick the chair Choose one armchair with a cushion for holding, and let every handover happen there. It keeps the baby out of the doorway traffic and saves the parents from refereeing.
- Name the end time Give the hours plainly and mean them. Ask one sibling or close friend to start the goodbyes, so the new parents are not the ones ending their own afternoon.
