Bonjour, Bébé
Three flavors of macaron go on the tiered stand, and the tea is poured before the gifts.
Part of the TinselLux™ collection: invitations in stitched leather, tufted velvet, linen and satin.
The material is the card: linen with a visible weave, velvet with a nap, leather with its grain. It costs the same as every other invitation.
See the collectionThis baby shower invitation sets up a midday hour at a tea salon: small round tables, a pot poured at each one, and a tiered stand of macarons in pistachio, cream and pale pink. Guests arrive within a few minutes of each other because there is a seating time. The mother-to-be sits where she can see the door. Cups go around, the first pot is finished quickly, and someone asks for more hot water before the food arrives.
Lunch is light and the table stays set. Champagne is poured for one toast, and there is something cold and non-alcoholic for anyone not drinking. Cards are opened at the table, read out loud, and stacked next to the saucer. Gifts come after, small ones first, wrapped in tissue that gets folded and kept. When the plates are cleared, guests take a box of macarons home and the family carries the bags out to the car.

What to actually tell people
- Order the macarons by color and count Pistachio, cream and pale pink in equal numbers reads best on the stand. Plan on three per guest and order two days ahead, since most bakeries make them to order.
- Ask the salon about the seating time Tea rooms often book in two-hour blocks. Confirm whether you can bring in a cake, when you can arrive to set the tables, and whether there is a corner for the gifts.
- Pour two things, not one Keep a pot of tea going and one bottle of champagne for the toast. Have something cold and sparkling without alcohol on the table for the mother-to-be and anyone else who is not drinking.
- Tie the favors to the place settings A small box of two macarons with a cream ribbon doubles as the place card if you write the name on the ribbon tag. It settles the seating and sends everyone home with something.
