Charlotte & William
Pearl buttons run down the back of the dress, and someone else has to do them up.
Part of the TinselLux™ collection: invitations in stitched leather, tufted velvet, linen and satin.
The material is the card: linen with a visible weave, velvet with a nap, leather with its grain. It costs the same as every other invitation.
See the collectionA wedding invitation like this one belongs to an afternoon ceremony in a ballroom, the kind where guests arrive in good shoes and the doors are opened by someone in gloves. The dress is ivory duchess satin with lace at the sides and pearls set into the openwork. It takes two people and a quiet twenty minutes to get into, and that twenty minutes is part of the day.
Then the ceremony, the photographs on the stairs, a seated dinner with place cards and toasts. The bustle goes up between the last course and the first dance, and the satin that has been held off the floor all afternoon finally gets to move. The room stays open until the band stops.

What to actually tell people
- Give the buttons to one person Pearl buttons on silk loops take real time, and nobody should be learning them on the day. Name the person who will do them up in the morning and pin the bustle before dancing.
- Ask for a dressing room with a rail and a mirror Duchess satin creases where it sits and Chantilly lace marks under a hot iron. Ask the venue for a room near the ballroom with a steamer, good light and somewhere to hang the dress off the floor.
- Find out what the ballroom floor is A satin train picks up every bit of grit between the ceremony and the first dance. Ask whether the floor is swept after dinner service and whether it is waxed before the band sets up.
- Close the RSVP list before the place cards The seating chart, the caterer's count and the linen order all come off one number. Set a date two weeks out, then text the handful who have not answered.
