Ciao, Baby
Aperitivo at four: alcohol-free spritzes, salted almonds, and a bowl of whole lemons.
This design has the Final Touch: the wording is stamped, stitched or foiled to match the artwork, so the card reads as one finished piece.
Start from it and your wording is painted in the same way, exactly as you type it.
What the Final Touch isA baby shower invitation in this key points to a terrace afternoon: a long table under the open sky, a cobalt and white tiled surface, and lemons piled in a shallow bowl where a centerpiece would normally sit. Guests arrive at four, when the light is low and gold, and the first thing handed over is a cold glass with an orange slice on the rim.
The food stays small and salty: almonds, olives, taralli, bread with good oil. People stand for the first half hour, then sit, and the gifts are opened while the plates are still out. Sometime near the end, someone brings out a tray of painted tiles or soaps wrapped in paper, one for each guest, and the mother-to-be takes the lemon branch home with the cards.

What to actually tell people
- Set the aperitivo tray before anyone arrives Salted almonds, green olives, taralli, and a plate of bread with olive oil are enough for an hour. Put the lemons in a shallow bowl in the middle of the table where everyone can reach them.
- Make the mocktails bitter, not sweet Alcohol-free aperitivo bitter with soda and a slice of blood orange reads like the real thing in a short tumbler over ice. Keep a second pitcher of lemonade with basil for anyone who wants it plainer.
- Plan for sun and wind on the terrace Four o'clock light comes in low and sideways, so seat the mother-to-be with her back to it and clip the tablecloth at the corners. Weight the cards and the guest book with something heavy before the breeze finds them.
- Send everyone home with something from the table A small hand-painted tile, a lemon soap, or a lemon in a paper twist all suit the day and cost very little. Stack them by the door so guests pick one up as they leave rather than halfway through the gifts.
