Sea You Soon
Shoes come off at the beach house door, and every guest adds a shell to the bowl.
Part of the TinselLux™ collection: invitations in stitched leather, tufted velvet, linen and satin.
The material is the card: linen with a visible weave, velvet with a nap, leather with its grain. It costs the same as every other invitation.
See the collectionThis baby shower invitation sets the afternoon at a house near the water, where the door is propped open and the sound of the surf carries into the kitchen. Guests leave their shoes in a pile on the step. Someone has put a glass bowl on the hall table for whatever people pick up on the walk in: a scallop half, a worn piece of sea glass, one small flat stone.
Food goes out on the deck, cold and simple, with the pitchers sweating in the sun. The mother to be sits where the light is good and the breeze is not. Gifts stack on a side table in soft coral and cream, and the opening happens slowly, with the ocean behind everyone in every photograph. People stay longer than they planned, and the last few end up barefoot on the sand before they drive home.

THE DUNE HOUSE · 11 Tidewater Way, Gull Cove, AL
Sandy toes welcome.
Every line of the wording is an example, and yours to replace. The title is painted into the artwork. Type your own and it is drawn again with your words.
What to actually tell people
- Check the tide before you pick a time A beach house looks very different at high and low water. Look up the tide chart for that day and set the shower so the beach is walkable when guests arrive.
- Plan for wind on the deck Paper napkins, cards and the gift tags will move. Keep a few smooth stones or a bowl of shells on the table to hold things down, and skip anything tall and light.
- Make the shoe pile easy Put a basket or a mat at the door and say sandy toes are fine, as the card does. Have a towel by the outdoor tap so nobody tracks the beach through the house.
- Give the shells somewhere to go Set out one glass bowl and ask guests to bring something from the walk in. It travels home as the first thing on the nursery shelf, and it costs no one anything.
