A dad's night out invitation for the one evening a year the league sits in the same room. The board goes up on the dining room wall, the labels get peeled in order, and the wings land on a folding table at six so nobody is holding a drumstick when the clock starts. One guy is on speakerphone from a hotel off the interstate. He gets the same ninety seconds as everyone else.

The commissioner reads the order, the timer runs, and the room turns in round eight when someone takes a kicker and declines to explain himself. The trophy sits on the sideboard with last year's name still on it, which is the only reason half of them drove over. By the time the board is full there is sauce on three of the labels, and the rest of the argument moves to the group chat, where it stays until January.

What to actually tell people

Settle the order before anyone parks Run the randomizer the night before and post the screenshot. The argument about who got the first pick belongs to the group chat, not to your kitchen.
Wings first, board second Put the food on a folding table against the far wall and keep it well clear of the draft board. Sauce and adhesive labels do not recover from each other.
One clock and one commissioner Ninety seconds a pick, called out loud, with autodraft armed for whoever is dialing in from the road. Appeals are heard. None are granted.
Take the dues at the door Cash in an envelope on the sideboard, next to the trophy that still has last year's name on it. Collecting in August is far easier than collecting in January.
