Little Treasure
Books arrive instead of cards, each one signed on the inside cover before the tea is poured.
Part of the TinselLux™ collection: invitations in stitched leather, tufted velvet, linen and satin.
The material is the card: linen with a visible weave, velvet with a nap, leather with its grain. It costs the same as every other invitation.
See the collectionA baby shower invitation like this one calls people to a late morning in a small blush room, where the tables are set with teacups rather than a buffet line. Tea goes out first, then sandwiches and something sweet on a tiered stand. The mother sits in one soft chair near the window and stays there, because every guest comes to her in turn.
Guests arrive holding books instead of envelopes. Each one is signed on the inside cover, with a name and a line meant for the baby to read later, and the stack grows along the edge of the gift table all morning. The gifts themselves are small and chosen to be kept: a pearl-clasp purse, a gold chain, an engraved spoon, things that will sit in a drawer for twenty years before anyone needs them.

What to actually tell people
- Put the book line on the invitation, not in a follow-up text Guests need to know before they shop that a book replaces the card. Say whether you want board books, picture books or novels for later, so the shelf does not fill with the same first ten titles.
- Set out two good pens at the door People will want to write the inscription when they arrive rather than at home. A fine black pen and a flat surface near the gift table are all it takes to get every inside cover signed.
- Keep a list of titles as they come in Write down each book and who brought it as the stack grows. It covers the thank-you notes and it tells you which duplicate to exchange without anyone having to ask.
- Give the keepsake gifts their own small tray The jewelry-sized presents get lost next to the big boxes. A velvet or linen tray on the table keeps the locket, the chain and the engraved spoon together, and the mother can open those last while everyone is still seated.
