Ivory leather, bright thread bachelorette invitation

Margs & Matrimony in Ivory Leather

Limes are cut by the dozen and the salt plate sits out next to the shakers.

Ivory leather, bright thread bachelorette invitation: Ivory leather card with an embroidered papel picado banner in pink, orange and teal across the top, stitched script reading Margs & Matrimony, and limes, cactus pads and flowers along the bottom.

Part of the TinselLux™ collection: invitations in stitched leather, tufted velvet, linen and satin.

The material is the card: linen with a visible weave, velvet with a nap, leather with its grain. It costs the same as every other invitation.

An ivory leather, bright thread bachelorette is a weekend built around one patio table. Papel picado runs overhead in pink, orange and turquoise. There is a cutting board of limes, a bowl of kosher salt, a bottle of good tequila and a stack of short glasses that do not match. Somebody takes over the shaker early and keeps the job all night.

The bride is here with the people who have known her longest. There are tacos on a tray, a cactus in a clay pot by the door, and flowers in colors nobody would call subtle. The group eats, drinks, argues about the ratio, and sits outside until the string lights are the only light left. It is a party for her, two weeks or two months before the wedding.

What to actually tell people

  • Build the margarita station before anyone arrives Set out tequila, orange liqueur, a juicer, two shakers and a bowl of ice in one line on the counter. Guests will pour their own all night once they can see where everything is.
  • Buy more limes than you think Plan on two limes per person for juice, plus a few extra cut into wheels for the rims. Juice them an hour ahead and keep the juice cold in a pitcher.
  • Hang the papel picado while it is still light String it across the patio with twine and small clips, high enough that nobody walks into it. Have a plan to bring it inside if there is wind or rain, because the paper tears quickly.
  • Put food out with the first round A tray of tacos, chips, cotija and a bowl of salsa on the table from the start keeps the evening even. Sort out rides home before the first drink is poured, not after.
