This baby shower invitation puts the party at the golf club, where the newest member is the one who cannot hold a club yet. A group plays nine in the morning while the rest of the guests arrive at the clubhouse: iced tea on the patio, the gift table set up away from the doors, a stack of blank scorecards and short pencils for anyone who wants to write down a name guess or a line of advice.

The players come in off the ninth, trade the carts for a seat, and the room fills up. Cake is cut once everyone is inside. The gifts get opened at one end of the long table, a small visor among them, and someone photographs the parents with the flag pin and the green behind them before the light goes.

What to actually tell people

  • Book the tee time and the room together Reserve nine holes for the morning group and the clubhouse room for the afternoon in one call, so the turn and the cake line up. Give non-golfers a separate arrival time so nobody waits an hour for the carts to come in.
  • Send the club's dress code with the details Most clubs want collared shirts and no metal spikes, and guests who have never played there will not know. One sentence in your message saves a trip back to the car.
  • Use scorecards as the guest cards Ask the pro shop for a stack of blank scorecards and set out short pencils. Guests write a name guess, a birth date guess or one piece of advice, and the cards go home in a box for the nursery shelf.
  • Give the non-players the putting green Set up a simple putting contest near the patio for anyone skipping the round, with a visor or a sleeve of balls for the winner. It keeps early arrivals busy until the golfers are off the course.
