Rhinestone Rodeo
The smallest guest is wearing the most rhinestones, and she is aware of it.
Part of the TinselLux™ collection: invitations in stitched leather, tufted velvet, linen and satin.
The material is the card: linen with a visible weave, velvet with a nap, leather with its grain. It costs the same as every other invitation.
See the collectionA birthday invitation for a rhinestone rodeo sets up two hours at a boarding stable, where the dress code is boots and the boots were bought one size up on purpose. Guests arrive already glittering. A folding table under the overhang holds flat-back gems, tacky glue and a stack of plain bandanas, and nothing leaves that table the way it arrived. Parents stand at the fence with coffee and get slowly covered in arena dust.
Then the arena opens. Three cones, a line of stick horses, a timer run off somebody's phone, and a running order that the birthday girl has decided herself. Cake happens on hay bales, with silver sprinkles that do not survive the wind. Nobody takes off the boots, including for cake, including in the car.
What to actually tell people
- Boots, one size up, worn in Say in advance that closed toes are required in the barn and that brand-new boots will blister by the second lap. A pair of socks in the bag solves most of it.
- Set the gem station before anyone arrives Flat-back rhinestones, tacky glue and plain bandanas on a folding table, well away from the stalls. Glue needs twenty minutes to set, so run it first and race second.
- Send the barn's rules with the address Most stables have the same three: no running behind the horses, no feeding anything without staff, adults stay with their kid. Parents follow rules they read in the car, not rules they hear at the gate.
- Hay bales, shade and a hose Two bales make better seating than any rented chair, and a flat bale is a fine cake table once you cover it. Keep the cake under the overhang and know where the hose is before the sprinkles turn into handprints.
