The back booth is held for the afternoon, and the slices come out as they are cut.
Part of the TinselLux™ collection: invitations in stitched leather, tufted velvet, linen and satin.
The material is the card: linen with a visible weave, velvet with a nap, leather with its grain. It costs the same as every other invitation.
See the collectionGuests slide in along the vinyl, the first pies land in the middle of the table, and everyone eats before anyone opens anything. The mother to be sits on the end so she can get up without asking four people to move.
Gifts stack on the bench seat opposite, soft ones on top. Someone saves the ribbon, someone else writes down who gave the sleepers. Dessert is cannoli or a slice of something from the same kitchen, and the afternoon ends when the dinner orders start coming in and the table is wiped down.

What to actually tell people
- Ask for the back booth by name Call the owner and ask for a block of time between the lunch rush and the dinner orders. A corner with two booths and a pushed-together table seats a shower better than a rented room.
- Order by the pie, serve by the slice Figure one pie for every three guests and ask the kitchen to cut them smaller than usual. Keep one plain cheese for the children and one without garlic for anyone who cannot have it.
- Give the gifts their own bench Clear one side of a booth for the stack so the food side stays clear. Ask for a few flat pizza boxes at the end to carry the small things out to the car.
- Let the table stay wipeable Skip linens and runners on an oilcloth table. Keep the napkin dispensers where they are, put the cards in a basket off the table, and bring one roll of paper towels for the gift opening.
